Afghanistan EITI Publishes Its Annual Progress Report 2018

Thursday: Afghanistan EITI publishes its annual progress report (APR) for the year 2018. The report was presented to the MSG in its meeting dated 10th June 2019, and was approved by the MSG to be published publicly. The report highlights the key developments within the extractive sector that took place during the year 2018 - the report has been compiled by different stakeholders, major contributors include different departments of Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, Ministry of Finance, National Statistics and Information Authority and MSG members. The report sheds light on the reforms brought within the minsitry of mines and petroleum which focuses on good governance and improvement of revenue collection within the center and provinces of the country. The report also gives an insight into the operations of State-owned Enterprises and other extractive companies who are a major contributor to the revenue of the country besides a number of other areas which have been discovered in the report.

The report this time is a milestone itself because it hasn't been written by a single entity rather has been developed with the cooperation of all stakeholders including MSG making it a quality report.
